Thumblina, the Frog and the Fish

Right.
So i just passed my bachelor in illustration :)
The pictures here are the 3, out of the 10 chars in the fairytale, that i choose to focus on.
We have the main character Thumblina, the giant evil toad that by the cover of darksness kidnap Thumblina, and one of the fishes that help Thumblina escape from the toad.
My interpretation of Thumblina is set in a post apocapyptic world set a thousand years from today. When i was rewriting the story, the nuclear meltdown in Japan happened, wich inspiret me alot in how this story could take place in a very grim future.

The pictures are all made in 70x100 cm for prints, and i used a Wacom Cintiq for coloring.
I printet them on some thick rough paper wich makes them a bit more griddy to look at than what you see on your screen :)

Hope you enjoy them as much as i have making them :)

The Witch

Ive tried working on a Wacom Cintiq 21... I got to get me one of those :)

For my bachelor im doing character concept art for a interpretation of H. C. Andersens fairytale "Thumblina". This is my first few tries for my witch.

Not so serious frogs...

I made these before studying the frog bones...

Dinosaurfrogs as a friend called them.

the bones got too serious to have as a top post.
So, for my own peace of mind, goofy stuff on the top :)

Frogging about

Ive been looking at various animal bones recently.
I guess i should post something, so my blog dont become a place my old stuff go to die ;)

A few studies of the frog skeleton.
